Douglas Wagyu Cattle Company is a family farm that believes in growing the best beef in the world following the Kobe beef model of Japan. The farm raises 100% Fullblood Wagyu cattle. All beef is raised hormone/antibiotic free with pure well water, and high quality grains and hay. The farm is approximately 300 acres and is in Southwest Missouri.
The farming journey began with pastured chickens in a Joel Salatin chicken tractor and we never looked back. We then added grass-fed beef and pray that we continue to grow so that not only does our family have food but that the family will grow and we can provide the healthiest food to a much larger community looking to get away from the chemicals/GMOs/hormones/etc in commercialized food. Farming was something that I always loved doing and that passion continues to grow as I see my children smile with joy and learn lessons on the farm that you can’t learn anywhere else.
In 1985 Dr. Jerry Cossette purchased a farm in the fertile lands of Gypsum Valley, just outside of Salina, Kansas. He started a high quality Angus cow/calf operation in conjunction with crop production. In 2002 Jerry’s brother, Jack Cossette, joined the family farm as the Operations Manager for both the agricultural and cattle operations. Jack had spent over 30 years in the hospitality business working with restaurants, clubs and hotels. His extensive food knowledge helped in understanding the potential in raising Wagyu cattle. In 2008, Jerry and Jack attended the Lone Mountain Sale in New Mexico and came away as one of the largest Wagyu genetics buyers at the sale. Since then, they have purchased Several more bulls with an array of different Wagyu bloodlines as well as several full blood Wagyu embryos. The Cossette’s raise all of their own corn, sorghum, alfalfa, prairie hay and brome grass. All of their Wagyu cattle are naturally fed using no growth hormones and no antibiotics. The Cossette’s believe in treating every customer as if they are a part of the family and invite you to visit them at the Cypsum Valley Wagyu farm!
Howard Wagyu is out of Salina Kansas and has a passion for bringing the highest quality beef to your family’s table. Jim Howard was raised around cattle and has been in the cattle business his whole life, but now Howard Wagyu is a family run farm with Jim’s wife Ashley and their 3 kids.
